Naturlyric I & II

Naturlyric I

I love mud daubers and jasper castoffs
the wearied salmon camping chair
handed down trekking poles

between campsites
a dell of thermodynamic exchanges sleep between the ridges
to remind me
I am unlearned in water,
I am no pelagic scholar (yet?)

Would the ocean be my second act

Naturlyric II

autumn overture
fruit leavings all over town
The plums lymphatic swells in the grass
blackberries dropsical
drunk apples wait their liquor by the buff prows of the Hobie Cat tandem kayak

Lake Permit 1990 Isabella County of Kern

I walk by ants upon baked slug
mistake the bulldozer boy trailing mother
for a lumbering dog

Butte's been in my reading
with her Rockies lady
but along Alabama
my saint's the eminence of Kulshan
